License to Train is a program to provide a 10-12 year-old the proper instruction and orientation to exercise. This program teaches the child to safely and appropriately exercise in our facility.
Cardiovascular Exercise Orientation: Children will learn how to operate and use the treadmill, upright bike and the recumbent bike. These are pieces of equipment that will help a child's heart and lungs get stronger.
Resistance Exercise Orientation: Children will also learn to safely use the band circuit by Life Fitness. These are the ten resistance machines that will help develop skeletal muscles and build strength.
Abdominal & Core Exercise Orientation: The abdominal and stretching area of the fitness floor will be included to help build core and abdominal strength and endurance.
Group Exercise Orientation: Group fitness classes are an exciting way to exercise with others. Children will learn conduct, behavior, and expectations as a participant in the class.
At the end of this session, the child will be Certified and Licensed to operate and participate in:
- Recumbent & Upright Bikes
- Life Fitness Band Circuit
- Abdominal & Core area of the fitness floor
- Yoga Flex
- Pilates Mat
Children who have completed the program must display the License to Train bracelet (purple & yellow- provided after program completion) and are required to be under direct supervision of a parent or guardian directly next to the Tween at all times. Please understand that this program is non-refundable.
